Joseph taught: “The contention in heaven was—Jesus said there would be certain souls that would
not be saved; and the devil said he would save them all, and laid his plans before the grand council,
 who gave their vote in favor of Jesus Christ. So the devil rose up in rebellion against God, and was cast
down, with all who put up their heads for him.”

Joseph Smith said in 1842 it was necessary: “That a whole and complete and perfect union, and welding
together of dispensations, and keys, and powers, and glories should take place, and be revealed from the
days of Adam even to the present time.  And not only this, but those things which never have been revealed
from the foundation of the world, but have been kept hid from the wise and prudent, shall be revealed unto
babes and sucklings in this, the dispensation of the fulness of times.”

26 First among those among you, saith the Lord, who have professed to know my name and have not known
me, and have blasphemed against me in the midst of my house, saith the Lord.”

“But they receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.
30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

31 And there shall be men standing in that generation, (in 2004) that shall not pass until they shall see an overflowing scourge; (Fallout) for a desolating sickness (Radiation sickness) shall cover the land.
32 But my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved; but among the wicked, men shall lift up
their voices and curse God and die.”   Doctrine and Covenants  Section 45: 29 – 32

“For a desolating scourge (Nuclear fallout) shall go forth among the inhabitants of the earth, (Around the world) and shall continue to be poured out from time to time,
if they repent not, until the earth is empty, and the inhabitants thereof are consumed away and utterly destroyed by the brightness of my coming.”     Doctrine and Covenants Section 5: 19
